Two photos from Aberdeen weddings. One shows a long-haired man and a woman in shades and floral strapless dress smiling at each other, against a cloudy sky in Old Aberdeen. The other shows two dark-haired women in white wedding dresses beaming at each other outside the Marcliffe Hotel as red and white confetti showers around them.

Hi, I'm Sarah, and I'm here to help.
Aberdeen Wedding Photographer, Sarah from Windswept Stories, sits on a beach. She is white and middle-aged, hair tied back, wearing a green blazer, blue top and dark jeans. Her wrists rest on her knees. She is smiling and looks generally kind and welcoming and awesome and like she totally didn't write this alt text herself.
I'm a reformed cynic who fell in love with photography.
I work with couples who know which traditions they treasure and which they should kick to the kerb.
I work with couples who squirm at being the centre of attention but always show up as themselves.
I work with couples who love a splash of colour, a dash of nostalgia and photos which look like a film poster.
I work with couples... like you.
Quirky Aberdeen Wedding Photographer: A groom in blue kilt and bride in floral dress and embroidered Converse laugh as they play on the swings in Hazlehead Park during their wedding reception.
Duthie Park Wedding Photographer: A bride in white dress and shawl and groom in kilt are shown reflected in a pond as they lean in to kiss. Bare winter trees and a clear sky show behind them.
Yes, I Do! I Photograph:
Micro weddings and short coverage weddings
Midweek weddings and last minute weddings
Alternative weddings and twilight weddings
And, it should go without saying, but I'm going to shout it LOUD just in case: LGBTQIA+ weddings
I'm based in Aberdeen, and work across all the main towns and cities in Scotland.
Lesbian Wedding Scotland: Two brides in white dresses, both brunette and wearing glasses, hold bouquets of red roses and sit in front of a roaring fire surrounded by Christmas lights and baubles in Aberdeen's Marcliffe Hotel.
A bride in a floral dress and three bridesmaids in different pastel pink dresses laugh together, all holding colourful bouquets, in the Hazlehead Park rose garden.

My Approach to Wedding Photography
I work with a lot of quiet and introverted couples and, as a naturally quiet and introverted person myself (I hide it well), believe me: I am a whizz at sneaking around and going unnoticed; for the most part, I want you to forget that I'm there so you can focus on enjoying yourselves.
This makes me the queen of candid shots so you can expect a gallery full of natural smiles, heads-thrown-back laughter and spontaneous hugs.
When it comes to formal photos (think: groups and couple shots), I aim to make these as fast, as fun and as informal as possible. I love a bit of golden hour lens flare or a twirly umbrella on a rainy day.
My aim is always to bring the calm when you need it, the fun when you want it and the eye for beautiful photographs so you can always remember the details of your wedding day.
Would You Like to See A Full Wedding Day?
Review of Aberdeen Wedding Photographer, Windswept Stories: Sarah did the photographs of our wedding day and we are really happy with everything - from enquiry response to the photographs we have received. We are living in a different country and had a lovely, relaxed video call with Sarah who put us at ease immediately. She was very knowledgeable and kind. Our families have mentioned what a lovely presence she was on the day and we have so many lovely, natural photos to look back on. If you're looking for relaxed/storytelling photos then Sarah is who you're looking for
that all sounds good, but what does it cost?
Want It ALl? You Got It
Text reads: Full Day
Full Day (just me):
£1500 across mainland Scotland
Up to ten hours of photography, this package is enough for all the main moments of a (fairly!) standard Scottish wedding.
The start and end times are yours to set so you can choose to prioritise your wedding morning, your evening shenanigans, or find a nice balance between the two.
A solo photographer (that's me) can be a good option if you have a smaller guest list and want to keep things intimate.

Full Day with Second Photographer:
£1900 across mainland Scotland
If you're planning something larger scale, inviting loooooooads of guests, and/or you're getting ready separately and would like photos of both of your mornings, this is the package for you.
A second photographer ensures you get even more smiles, even more laughter and even more happy tears in your wedding gallery.
Need Something Shorter? I've Got You

Wedding Photography By The Hour
If you're only needing a half day or a few hours of wedding photography, I offer a very flexible hourly package which ensures you're only paying for what you need. Here's the gist:
Short coverage is available within Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness, Edinburgh and towns along the East Coast trainline.

Two hours: £450
Additional time: £250 per hour
A one hour package is available for weddings booked with under three months' notice. This is priced at £275.
Two brown hands, both wearing wedding rings, are shown, loosely clasped. The woman's hand has mehndi and she wears a lot of colourful bracelets.
A dark haired bride in cream dress looks back at her long-haired husband as he hugs her from behind. The background is greenery, with sun flare dappling the scene.
Review of Aberdeen Wedding Photographer, Sarah from Windswept Stories: We can't thank you enough for the photos! They are gorgeous! Obsessed with them! You've captured so many special happy moments throughout the day. We absolutely love every single one! All our family and friends have been singing your praise and all agree the photos are stunning. Im so glad we worked with you for our wedding! You were so relaxed and matched the exact vibe we wanted for the day and the photos reflect that. You're such a lovely person and it was a joy to have you with us. You snapped all day and we have such gorgeous memories to print and keep forever! We never felt pressured and you kept everything so relaxed. Thank you so much for everything!
Do You Need a second photographer?
Do you need a second photographer? They're an optional extra, but, if your photos are important to you, it can be a great investment. Second photographers allow me to focus on you and your I Do Crew, safe in the knowledge that somebody else is dotting around your guests, getting all those gorgeous candids. The more guests you have, the more important a second photographer will be.
If you're getting ready for the wedding at different locations and would like prep photos of both of you, a second photographer is essential.
All of the second photographers I work with are wedding professionals who take on these jobs between their own bookings (and I do the same for them - in fact, the pink-tinted ceilidh dancing just below this was taken whilst seconding for Tower Photography) - this means that you are getting a whole load of additional high quality photos of your day for a fraction of the cost of booking us separately.

Can I tempt You With a pre-wedding PHOTO session?
Text reads: Going Extra
Priced at £200 for up to one hour, pre-wedding sessions (also known as "engagement shoots") are relaxed, specially priced couple's photo shoots which take place in Aberdeen.
For couples who feel awkward in front of the camera, a pre-wedding session can be an invaluable way of putting you at ease before your wedding day. They're also a great chance for us to get to know each other a bit better AND they give you gorgeous photos to pop in with invitations.
Pre-wedding sessions are available on school days and Sundays. Additional dates may be available by arrangement - I'll always try to squeeze you in!
Let's See Some Pre-Wedding Photo Shoots!
Image shows a newlywed m/f couple kissing on the terrapin bridge in Duthie Park Winter Gardens. The review text reads: Sarah photographed our wedding last October and did a fabulous job! The photos are gorgeous and we really enjoyed having her be a part of our day, it all felt so relaxed. We also got in touch again when our wee boy was born and having Sarah in our wee bubble during those early days, it was just like having a friend in the house! and she gave us beautiful photos to remember the time by. 100/10, could not recommend more!

Wedding Photography FAQs
can we have multiple locations?
Yes, you can. Prep, ceremony, reception - these may all be in different places. If you would like to sneak away somewhere special for couple photos, we can do that, too.
I very consciously don't run a car, but I will either travel between venues with you or your guests or I'll hop in a taxi. We can talk about this as part of your planning process.
How Will We Receive Our Photos?
Your photos will be delivered digitally via a secure online gallery which you are welcome to share with your loved ones. Your gallery is live for one year, giving you ample time to download all of your images. Professional quality printing is available via this gallery, however this is optional, and you may print your downloaded images elsewhere, if you prefer.
When Do We Pay You?
For weddings booked more than six weeks in advance, you pay a 25% deposit to secure your date and the remaining balance one month before the wedding. For weddings booked with under six weeks' notice, the full payment is required upfront.
Are there any hidden costs?
Nope, it's all right here on the screen.
Are you inclusive?
I'm certainly trying my best to be! I'm right here scribbling in Sharpie over the top of all this bi-erasure I receive, so I'm HERE for LGBTQIA+ couples. I'm also here to support and celebrate with neurospicy folk, disabled people and anyone from marginalised groups. If you don't yet see yourselves represented on my website, please know that it's not because I don't want you there - it's simply that, either, I haven't had the opportunity to take those photos, or the couples I have worked with have chosen to keep their pictures private. Everyone is celebrated here.
Send Your Message
Hooray! Your message is on its way to me and I'll be back in touch ASAP (same day where possible; next day if I'm busy at a wedding!).
